Folsom mixes three eras of housing. The Historic District around Sutter Street has some of the oldest homes in the area. Neighborhoods like Broadstone and Empire Ranch were built mostly in the 1990s and 2000s. South of Highway 50, Folsom Ranch is new construction.

For a TV mount that matters. Newer Folsom homes are drywall on wood studs, often with high ceilings and a stone-faced fireplace as the centerpiece of the living room. Mounting on stone or tile is possible — it takes masonry anchors and more time, so it is priced as an add-on and we ask about it up front.

In hillside homes with two-story living rooms, the wall above the fireplace can be very tall. The installer marks the spot and you look at it from your seat before any hole is made.

In older Historic District homes the wall may not be standard drywall. Mention the age of the house in your request and we will confirm what is behind the wall before the visit.
