Homes and walls in Iowa
Iowa homes almost always have a basement, and the family TV often ends up there. Basement walls are either framed in front of concrete or bare concrete, and that decides how the mount is anchored and whether cables can be hidden. Upstairs, newer homes in Ankeny and around Des Moines and Cedar Rapids are drywall on wood studs. Older farmhouses and prewar homes commonly have plaster walls, which need extra care when drilling.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
Where we plan to open in Iowa
We open a city once at least two local installers there have passed our selection and a hands-on skills test. These five come first.
