Homes and walls in Minnesota
Minnesota winters decide how homes are built: thick, tightly sealed exterior walls and a finished lower level in almost every house. A TV belongs on an interior wall, and cables should not be run through an insulated outside wall. In Minneapolis and Saint Paul, bungalows and older two-stories often have plaster. In suburbs such as Bloomington, and in Rochester, most walls are drywall on wood studs, and the lower-level family room is the usual place for the big screen.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
Where we plan to open in Minnesota
We open a city once at least two local installers there have passed our selection and a hands-on skills test. These five come first.
