Homes and walls in Vermont
Vermont's homes are old and built for cold. Farmhouses, capes and village houses in Burlington, Rutland and Bennington often have plaster-and-lath walls, timber framing with irregular spacing, and a wood stove at the center of the living room. A TV has to sit away from the stove's heat, and plaster needs careful drilling. Exterior walls are heavily insulated, so cables are hidden only in interior walls.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
Where we plan to open in Vermont
We open a city once at least two local installers there have passed our selection and a hands-on skills test. These five come first.
