Homes and walls in Maryland
Maryland ranges from Baltimore's brick rowhouses to large newer homes in Frederick, Gaithersburg, Rockville and Bowie. In a rowhouse, the long side walls are shared brick, usually behind plaster, so the mount is anchored into masonry. Suburban homes are drywall on wood studs, often with a finished basement. Apartments and condos near Washington, D.C. frequently have metal studs, which need a different kind of anchor than wood.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
Where we plan to open in Maryland
We open a city once at least two local installers there have passed our selection and a hands-on skills test. These five come first.
