Homes and walls in Washington
Washington splits into two housing types. In Seattle and Tacoma, older Craftsman homes have plaster walls, and newer condos and apartments often have metal studs or concrete. In Bellevue, Vancouver and around Spokane, most homes are newer, with drywall on wood studs and a gas fireplace on the main wall. Open floor plans with big windows leave few solid walls, so the fireplace wall is where most TVs end up.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
Where we plan to open in Washington
We open a city once at least two local installers there have passed our selection and a hands-on skills test. These five come first.
