Homes and walls in Rhode Island
Rhode Island's housing is among the oldest in the nation. Triple-deckers and mill-era houses in Providence, Pawtucket and Cranston have plaster-and-lath walls and old, sometimes irregular framing. Mounting on plaster takes patience and anchors made for it, and old wiring means outlets are rarely where the TV goes. Coastal homes in places like Warwick add salt air, which matters if the TV is going on a porch.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
