Homes and walls in Louisiana
Louisiana homes are shaped by heat, humidity and age. In New Orleans, shotgun houses and Creole cottages often have old plaster or wood-board walls with irregular framing, so finding solid backing takes time. Newer houses in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Lake Charles are drywall on wood studs. Fireplaces are less common than in the north, while covered patios are everywhere — an outdoor TV there needs a weather-rated screen and hardware that resists rust.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
Where we plan to open in Louisiana
We open a city once at least two local installers there have passed our selection and a hands-on skills test. These five come first.
