Homes and walls in West Virginia
West Virginia has a lot of older housing: brick and frame homes from the early 1900s in Charleston, Huntington and Wheeling, many with plaster walls. In the hills you also find cabins and homes with wood paneling. Paneling by itself will not hold a TV — the mount has to reach the studs or logs behind it. Newer homes around Morgantown are drywall on wood studs.
Whatever the wall, the rule is the same: the installer checks it with you and you approve the spot before anything is drilled.
